The expansions just keep coming for the DW Soundworks drum library, with the company just adding the DW Collector’s Pure Cherry expansion pack.
This latest addition features sounds from Collector’s Series Cherry drums, known for their bright attack, musical tone with rich midrange and balanced sustain.
According to DW, “this brighter alternative to Maple is suited for up-tempo and dynamic styles like fusion, funk, gospel and pop – or just a great way to find a new sound”.
The Cherry pack comes hot on the heels of the recent release of the Design Series Acrylic expansion pack.
The producers classify the pack as representing “all the bright, clean attack, focused tone, controlled sustain and oversized live sound acrylic drums are known for”.
“The new expansion pack makes it easy to punch up music tracks with a big, boomy backbeat,” the company notes.
The kit has been remixed in 12 custom presets to fit a variety of playing styles and includes a range of mic selections to give producers and drummers even more control over their sound.
The first of the latest batch of expansion packs was the Trevor Lawrence Jr Artist Hip Hop Expansion Pack, aimed at hip-hop drummers.
All DW Soundworks samples are recorded straight from the factory at the highest level of audio fidelity. DW’s collection of outboard gear includes best-in-class microphones, high-quality microphone preamplifiers (mic preamps), a variety of compressors and equalizers, and other tools that capture the genuine tonality of drums as they were meant to sound for an authentic audio experience.
The new packs are part of the DW Soundworks sampler which runs in stand-alone mode or can be played through most DAWs. Soundworks is the main sound source of the DWe drum line.
The expansions are available for purchase and download through Roland Cloud.
