MPS-750 gets shell upgrade

Germany’s Thomann has released a new e-drum kit combining the shells of its flagship Millenium MPS-1000 with the module of the MPS-750. The new MPS-750X Pro e-drum set boasts real wood shells and a complete hardware set, giving it the look of an acoustic drum kit. The stock configuration standard includes an 18×14″ bass drum; 10×6″, 12×6″ and 14×14″ toms; and a 13×5.5″ snare in a Black Sparkle finish. The cymbal pack consists of a 13″ dual-zone hi-hat pad with controller, a 15″ dual-zone crash pad with choke, and an 18″ triple-zone ride with choke. Kit just for kids

Europe’s biggest music retailer, Thomann, has released what is believed to be the first e-drum kit for children – the Millenium Rookie E-Drum Children Set. According to the company, “no other instrument can so perfectly combine the natural urge to move and the development of musicality and sense of rhythm”. What makes it a kids’ kit? For one thing, it’s the sizes of the drums, cymbals and rack. The kit consists of a 7” mesh snare pad, three 7” tom pads, three 8” cymbal pads (ride, crash and hi-hat) and a one-piece kick pedal. Millenium Drums debuts NonaPad

Europe’s Millenium Drums has released its new electronic percussion pad, the NonaPad. The multipad offers “controlled performance with a great feel and an eclectic library of sounds (and) nine velocity-sensitive pads (capable of producing) expressive playing styles with ease,” according to the company. The NonaPad boasts 608 onboard sounds and 30 preset kits. Eagle-eyed readers will recognise the instrument from its other iterations: the ddrum NIO, dbdrums nPad, Avatar PD705 and Gear4Music DD90. The Chinese manufacturer, which sells the pad direct under its Avatar brand, has a strategy of releasing the instrument via regional distributors which can customise it for their local market. Millenium ups the ante

German music retail giant Thomann has introduced the Millenium MPS-1000 e-drum kit , setting a new standard in house-brand electronic percussion. Priced at under €1,000, the kit features full-size, acoustic-style drums and an 18” three-zone ride cymbal. The drums consist of a 20″x14″ kick drum, 13″x6″ dual-zone snare pad and 10″x6”, 12″x6″ and 14″x12″ dual-zone toms, all fitted with dual-ply mesh heads. The cymbal array includes a 13″ dual-zone hi-hat, two 15″ dual-zone crash pads with choke, and the 18″ triple-zone chokeable ride. The module, reminiscent of Alesis brains, comes with 40 preset kits and 40 user kits, 820 sounds and 70 songs.
