DWe debuts Down Under

American drum maker DW, now a division of Roland, has released its wireless convertible DWe line in Australia – the first market outside North America and Japan to get the product which began shipping in January. Launch events included two shows at Drumtek in Melbourne and Billy Hyde Music in Nunawading, and a demonstration by session drummer Gerry Pantazis at Just Percussion in Brisbane. All variants of the DWe kit are available in Australia – four- and five-piece kits in three finishes: Exotic (Candy Black Burst over Curly Maple), Lacquer (Black Cherry Metallic or Midnight Blue Metallic), and two different wraps – Black Galaxy and White Marine Pearl. Roland to open store in Tokyo

Roland Corporation will open a retail outlet in Japan, Roland Store Tokyo, in October. This follows the opening of the music giant’s first “immersive retail space” in London last year. The three-story Roland Store Tokyo will be stocked with Roland’s latest electronic musical instruments and staffed by knowledgeable and experienced Roland product specialists. The first floor will showcase a variety of synthesizers, digital wind instruments, Roland Cloud and DJ-related products, instrument accessories, Roland apparel and more. Roland opens London store

Roland Corporation has officially opened the new Roland Store in the heart of London’s iconic Denmark Street. The electronic instrument giant says the new store is “part of the continued effort to provide unique in-store experiences globally”. The store has an extensive collection of electronic drums alongside Roland’s keyboard and Boss pedal lines. Customers can pre-book demonstrations via Roland’s Demo-On-Demand service. Highly trained Roland product specialists, who are musicians and gear experts in their own right, are on hand to help visitors.
