Alesis launches sub-$250 Turbo Max

Alesis Drums has announced the launch of the Turbo Max, a compact, all-in-one seven-piece electronic drum kit designed as an accessible entry point for new drummers. Retailing at a highly competitive price of $249, the kit aims to provide a complete drumming solution right out of the box.

The Turbo Max is positioned as a comprehensive package, which is particularly notable given its price point. At $249, it stands as one of the few, if not the only, seven-piece kits available in this category, a significant achievement considering the ongoing tariffs on imported electronic musical instruments into the US.

The kit’s key components include:

  • Four 8” mesh drum pads
  • Three cymbals
  • A full-size hi-hat and kick pedal
  • A sturdy, adjustable metal rack
  • All necessary accessories, including a drum throne, headphones, sticks and cables

The included Turbo Max drum module provides 12 drum kits and 110 sounds, along with 20 built-in play-along songs. It also features integrated Bluetooth audio for streaming music from a smart device and a USB-MIDI port for connecting to music software. The module also offers tempo control, a metronome and record/playback functions.

Alesis designed the Turbo Max for a wide range of players, from beginners and young drummers to adult hobbyists and educators seeking a versatile teaching tool. The kit’s emphasis on quiet practice and its space-saving design makes it a practical option for drummers in small living spaces.

The Alesis Drums Turbo Max is currently available in the US and Japan, with EU availability planned to roll out later this year.
