Drum Workshop (DW) has announced a significant expansion of its DWe acoustic–electronic wireless drum system, introducing new kit bundle configurations, additional drum module options, and a dedicated Side Snare Bundle. The updates were unveiled at NAMM 2026.
All new DWe four-piece and five-piece bundles are based on DW Collector’s Series 333 Maple shells and come factory-equipped with fully wireless internal triggers powered by DrumLink, DW’s proprietary wireless triggering and connectivity system. DrumLink allows players to add components incrementally, supporting modular hybrid and electronic setups.
The four-piece configuration includes a 9×12″ mounted tom, 12×14″ floor tom, 14×20″ bass drum and 5×14″ snare, while the five-piece option adds an additional mounted tom and larger bass and floor tom sizes. Each bundle also includes a cymbal pack, a DW Soundworks software license, and a DW 5000 Series hardware pack.
For module connectivity, DWe kits can now be paired with either of two Roland drum modules using plug-and-play integration. The Roland V51 module is positioned as a compact option with simplified navigation for studio and home use, while the Roland V71 module is aimed at professional touring applications, offering balanced XLR and ¼” main outputs alongside eight balanced direct outputs. Both modules support expansion via DW sound packs available through Roland Cloud Connect.
Two cymbal bundle options are offered. The Roland V-Cymbal Pack includes electronic hi-hat and crash/ride pads, while the DWe Metal Cymbal Pack features real metal cymbals — 14″ hi-hats, two 16″ crash/rides and an 18″ crash/ride — each fitted with three-zone triggering for hybrid acoustic-electronic performance.
Also debuting at NAMM is the DWe Side Snare Bundle, built around a compact 5×10″ maple snare designed for hybrid applications. Intended for use alongside multipads such as the Roland SPD-SX Pro or within a DWe set-up, the side snare includes mesh and mylar heads, snare wires, a DrumLink Wireless Hub, and a DW Soundworks license. Triggering is controlled via DW’s digiMAG throw-off, allowing rapid switching between acoustic and electronic operation.
With these additions, DW continues to position DWe as a modular wireless platform rather than a fixed electronic drum kit, expanding compatibility with third-party modules while retaining acoustic drum construction.
