The full artist line-up for the inaugural digitalDrummer E-drum Experience Labs at the UK Drum Show in September has been released.
The demonstrations begin on Saturday morning (September 28) with talented musician, educator and social media influencer Emma Taylor, who recently teamed up with EfNote. She will present a session titled ‘Bridging the Gap Between Acoustic and Electric’.
Mitch Deighton, the UK’s leading air-drummer, will be up next, demonstrating his skills with cutting-edge technology developed in Liverpool.
His fun session will feature Aerodrums 2, the latest air drumming instrument.
Visitors will get their first glimpse of the world’s latest e-drum offering from one of the oldest instrument companies when Mike Weber shows off the Zildjian ALCHEM-E kits. Weber is the project lead for the innovative Zildjian ALCHEM-E line.
The Saturday sessions end with an encore presentation from Vicky O’Neon, one of the popular artists at last year’s show. The UK-based Finnish drummer and percussionist will explore some of the many possibilities Ableton Live has to offer for live performances.
Another new product will be on show on Sunday morning, when Chris Turner, winner of the 2022 Drumeo Louie Bellson Award, runs a masterclass on the DWe, the world’s first convertible acoustic/electronic drum kit.
New York-based drummer, producer and composer Giulliana Merello, who recently wowed audiences at NAMM, will be on next, using a GEWA G9 to show visitors how to sharpen their skills and explore the power of the electronic drums.
In what promises to be a Drum Show highlight, leading electronic drummer, energetic solo performer and clinician Michael Schack will demonstrate his blend of drumming prowess, programming genius and hi-octane performance skills.
A three-time winner of digitalDrummer’s E-drummer of the Year accolade and Hall of Fame inductee, Schack always takes electronic music to a new level, pushing the technology to its limits.
The E-drum Experience Labs conclude with New York City-based drummer/producer Ravish Momin, who is known for his innovative Ableton-driven electronic drumming. Making his debut at the UK Drum Show with his command of South Indian, North African and Middle Eastern rhythms, Momin will show how Ableton Live can be a powerful tool for live performance that integrates his Alternate Mode FSR-based (force-sensing resistor) kit with complex live-looping and layered sound-design.
All the sessions will be introduced by digitalDrummer editor Allan Leibowitz.
The UK Drum Show runs from September 28 to 29 at ACC Liverpool.
Many of the leading acoustic and electronic drum brands will be on display, and the Main Stage artist line-up includes Chris Coleman, Kenny Aronoff, Anika Nilles, Keith Carlock and Nic Collins.
